Guideposts Series

For Your Church or Organization

Guideposts is a grief support series that helps churches and community organizations walk alongside people who are grieving. Built on Lisa Orris’s book Never Apologize for Your Tears, the series gives volunteer leaders everything they need to host a caring, effective support group, even if they’ve never led one before.

The series includes 8 Guideposts, each pairing a short video of about five minutes with a printable chapter that participants can take home. The brief videos leave most of each gathering for conversation and connection, and the series can be used weekly, in a retreat, in a holiday workshop, or one-on-one, so organizations can shape it to fit the people they serve. Leaders receive an online portal with a 15-minute orientation, session materials, a large print edition, direct phone, text, and email support.

What sets Guideposts apart is that support doesn’t end when the meeting does. Participants receive free access, with no account required, to a set of tools for the days between sessions: the Grief Guide App, which offers resources tailored to their relationship with the person they lost; What Would Grief Guide Say?, which provides instant, compassionate responses grounded in the Grief Guide model; and Grief Guide Daily, a free message of encouragement by email or text each morning.
