Who We Are
Grief Journal Companion is an SMS-based journaling program operated by Host1Help1, based in Bellingham, Washington. We help individuals processing grief through a structured 50-day daily question program delivered by text message.
What Information We Collect
When you enroll, we collect your mobile phone number. When you reply to daily messages, we store the content of your replies as your private journal. We also log your enrollment date, consent timestamp, and IP address at the time of sign-up.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any payment information through this program.
How We Use Your Information
Your phone number is used solely to send you daily journal questions and to respond when you request a personal reflection by texting WHERE AM I AT. Your journal replies are used only to generate that reflection — they are never read by a human, sold, or shared.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. Ever.
SMS Messaging
This program uses Twilio, Inc. as our SMS delivery provider. Twilio processes your phone number to route messages. Their privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy. Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.
Message frequency: up to 1 message per day for 50 days, plus responses to messages you initiate.
To stop receiving messages at any time, reply STOP. To get help, reply HELP.
Data Retention
Your phone number and journal entries are retained for 90 days after your program ends, then permanently deleted. You may request immediate deletion at any time by emailing help@griefjournal.app.
Third Parties
We do not share your personal information with any third party except Twilio for message delivery as described above. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising networks, or data brokers.
Your Rights
You may request a copy of your journal data or ask us to delete it at any time. Contact us at help@griefjournal.app. We will respond within 5 business days.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will notify enrolled users by SMS before the change takes effect.
